What's invisible at Harvard →
The whole thing seemed structured to teach you, “Yes, as long as you can talk loudly and confidently enough that everyone shuts up and listens, you have the right to tell me I don’t have any rights.” So many things about this article!

Rock History 101: Billy Bragg - "St. Swithin's... →
…That’s why Billy Bragg is such a warrior poet in the truest sense. He screams just as loudly for love as he does for justice. He is as balanced as it gets, songbook-wise, and it’s tough to find anyone else who can toss in lyrics about British victory, a patron saint, and masturbation in such a straightforward manor. Cheers, Mr. Bragg. Cheers, Mr. Love and Justice.

Maricopa County Sherriff's Office evolves into an...
For more than two years, Sheriff Joe Arpaio has dispatched his deputies to arrest hundreds of illegal immigrants as he’s retooled his force into an immigration enforcement agency. But it’s Maricopa County’s residents, particularly those living in small towns and rural stretches, who have paid the price for his decision. People wait far longer for deputies to arrive at life-threatening...

How is a ‘coffee cup’ allowed to be a different size than a ‘cooking cup’ and how am I a coffee-drinker-in-my-twenties without this knowledge?  Also, my coffee maker and coffee beans disagree on whether a ‘coffee cup’ is five or six ounces.  If units of measurement can’t bring us consistency in an uncertain world, what CAN we count on?
